HOW DO INTERNET-LINKED BOOKS WORK?

At the links website, simply enter the name of the book and the page number, and you’ll be given a list of safe, content-appropriate websites to visit to research a subject in a fun and informative way.

WHAT KIND OF LINKS ARE PROVIDED?

Children can design their own fish, go on a virtual treasure hunt in Africa, observe open-heart surgery, hear radio broadcasts from WWII, go on a virtual deep-sea dive and see what creatures live at each level of the ocean, tour a castle and dress a knight, listen to words and phrases in other languages, watch animated explanations of global warming or the water cycle – and endless other learning adventures!

Click here to view the internet-linked books - each book will show either IR or IL – IL indicates that links are provided on most two-page spreads; IR indicates that a list of 3-4 websites is provided in the back of that book that pertain to the topic as a whole.

HOW SAFE ARE THE LINKS?

The links provided in the books are written so that the links website can be changed rather than the book itself (no specific websites are listed in the books) in case a link becomes inactive or inappropriate. All the websites are regularly reviewed and updated. Of course, as with all internet use by children, parental supervision is recommended. But don't worry - you'll have fun and learn something too!
